To make better Decisions; first ask the Right Questions

When you ask the right questions, you can get the information you need to make an informed decision.  When you ask the right questions the first time, you don’t have to keep going back to get other bits and pieces of information.  When you ask the right questions, you can spend your time more effectively and efficiently.

How do you know if/when you’re asking the right questions?  A quick and easy way to know you’ve asked the right questions is when you can answer the “5 Ws and the How” questions.  A quick review is; Who, What, When, Where, Why and How.

Again, I believe that “Why” is the single most important question of all.  Remember, when you understand the “Why”, everything else makes more sense and you gain a better understanding.  And, as my grandmother told me many years ago, “nothing beats an understanding.”

You can carry a pen and pad or you can try to remember conversations.  However, I believe “a stubby pencil beats a long memory any day,” but the choice is yours.  Record or remember answers to the “5 Ws and the How” questions, then use them.  Your decision-making will greatly improve as a result.

See you on the high ground!
